Collingwood has been the butt of many jokes over the few past seasons when it comes to recruiting with the likes of Jesse White and Chris Mayne in particular failing to perform since joining the club.
Former Sydney and Melbourne coach Paul Roos is the latest to criticise Collingwood's recruitment strategy while speaking on Triple M on Sunday afternoon.
โIf you look at Collingwoodโs list management over the past few years, itโs been appalling,โ Roos said.
โIโm not going to make a comment on how each player performs at AFL levelโฆ but Jesse White goes in โ where does he fit in?
โJames Aish comes in to a midfield that already has Adam Treloar, (plus) Levi Greenwood coming in there.
โThey donโt have a list management plan.
โI was positive about the (Daniel) Wells move, and (Will) Hoskin-Elliott because at least that gives them some speed.
โEveryone has hits and misses โ you can look at Melbourne under me as a coach, you can look at Sydney, we had some hits and misses.
โBut you must have a plan about where they are going to play, how you are going to build your team and as a result of that, how you are going to play on a consistent basis.โ
However, Roos backed Nathan Buckley, refusing to blame the Pies'coach for the recruitments.
"Bucks is under enormous pressure, but I'm not talking about Nathan Buckley," he added.
Over the past two years, the Pies have recruited Daniel Wells, Chris Mayne, Jeremy Howe, Adam Treloar, James Aish, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Lynden Dunn.
