Brisbane has requested to play Collingwood on Easter Thursday at the GABBA in a bid to draw a monster crowd on the eve of the long weekend.

The fixture has been on the card for the last three seasons but after a roaring success in 2019 which saw over 34,000 people attend, the game has suffered due to Covid.

AFL.com.au is reporting that the Lions are also keen to avoid a trip to Ballarat to play the Bulldogs. The Dogs have a formidable record at Mars Stadium and the Lions would rather play their Victorian games in Melbourne in front of their Fitzroy fans.
