Premiership favourites Greater Western Sydney has extended contract of coach Leon Cameron for a further two years, keeping the 44-year-old at the club until at least 2020.

The Giants have also re-signed football manager, Wayne Campbell until 2020.

"The players are absolutely delighted with the news," GWS CEO Dave Matthews said.

โ€œLeon is absolutely the right man to lead our team right now and into the future.

โ€œWe had no hesitation in extending Leonโ€™s contract and he had no hesitation in accepting that extension. As a quality person and clearly a quality coach, Leon is held in extremely high esteem at the club and is a hugely respected member of the broader Giants family.

โ€œSince taking over the reins from Kevin Sheedy at the end of 2013, he has taken our club from strength to strength, including our maiden finals appearance last year.

โ€œHeโ€™s had challenges thrown at him this season but has continued to take the club forward and further put his stamp on what is a brilliant culture amongst our players and staff alike. He sets an outstanding example every day, across all areas of our organisation.โ€

Cameron said he is thrilled to be able to lead the team into what he hopes is a highly successful period.

โ€œItโ€™s a privilege to be the Head Coach of such a committed, hard working group of players. This club is like family to us and Iโ€™m privileged to lead a fantastic group of players and coaches with an incredible support team around me," Cameron said.

โ€œWe have built a strong club, a club Iโ€™m proud to be part of long-term. We are all committed to continued growth and improvement and consistently putting ourselves in a position for success.โ€

Cameron has coached the Giants in 82 games, winning 43, losing 37 and drawing two.
