Fremantle ruckman Aaron Sandilands has been ruled out for at least week with a hamstring injury.

Sandilands missed the side's 100-point thrashing a fortnight ago due to hamstring tightness and was also a late withdrawal from the Dockers' side that went down to Collingwood on the weekend.

Coach Ross Lyon confirmed on Wednesday morning the veteran ruckman will also miss this week's with Brisbane.

“(Sandilands) won’t play. There was a slight set back and he wont play this week,” Lyon said.

“Hopefully, we’ll see him after the bye.

“His (hamstring) tendon’s been a bit inflamed and stressed, which has affected strength and movement and that’s why it’s been unpredictable.

“The strength looks like he’s getting there. He ran quite well yesterday. You’ve got to get into the 90 per cent strength range.

“Fundamentally, we think he won't get there.”

Meanwhile, Lyon rebuffed claims skipper Nat Fyfe is carrying an injury, despite recent criticism of his form.

"Fyfe is fine and doesn't make excuses, but I thought his performance was solid," Lyon said.

Hayden Ballantyne is also slowly making progress on his recovery from a hamstring injury and could return after the bye, while Tommy Sheridan is in line for a recall this week after a promising game in the WAFL.

"Ballantyne will train this week and do full training next week, he's building for after the bye," Lyon said.

“Tommy will probably come in.

“He was probably our best (playing for Peel) and there were some other solid performances down there but we thought Tommy was the standout.

“So he should be getting himself ready to play AFL footy.”

The Dockers take on the Lions at the Gabba on Saturday at 4.35pm AEST.
