GWS ruckman Shane Mumford has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, in yet another blow to the Giants' premiership chances.
Mumford suffered a fracture in his foot during the side's loss to Adelaide on Thursday night, however, managed to play out the game. But the club confirmed on Monday evening he will not play again this year.
“Shane reported some soreness in his foot the day after the game and upon further investigation it was revealed he’d suffered a fracture," GWS head of athletic performance David Joyce said.
“Having consulted a specialist on Monday, the decision has been made to rule him out for the rest of the season.
“This is disappointing news for Shane but he’ll no doubt put this aside to help his team mates prepare the best they can."
The Giants confirmed earlier today forward Jeremy Cameron will also miss the rest of the 2017 finals series after suffering a hamstring injury against the Crows on Thursday night.
Cameron sustained the left hamstring injury in the second quarter of his side's loss to Adelaide and didn't play the rest of the game.
It's not the first time he's injured his hamstring in 2017, as he missed three matches towards the back end of the season with issues in his right leg.
The Giants will face the Eagles at Spotless Stadium on Saturday night, with the winner of that match to face Richmond in a preliminary final at the MCG the following Saturday.
