The AFL has announced the judges that will vote for best on ground in Friday night's State of Origin clash.

St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt will be the chairperson of the panel along with Hawthorn four-time premiership player Luke Hodge, president of the Omeo District Football Netball League, Ray Gallagher, and chief officer of the Victoria State Emergency Service, Tim Wiebusch.

Supporters will also get a vote in the contest through the google fan vote.

Gallagher is representing the fire-affected communities of the League, including Bruthen/Sarsfield/Wiseleigh, Buchan/Gelantipy, Omeo-Benambra, Swan Reach and Swifts Creek.

Wiebusch was the state-wide emergency services controller over the course of the bushfire emergency period and is also a lover of football in his own right.

The Google Fan votes will run over the course of the game, with the voting commencing at 7:50pm and finishing at 10:20pm AEDT. Supporters can vote through the Google browser and by searching "AFL vote".

The medal cannot be shared. Should there be a tie, the number of three votes will be the first tie-breaker, followed by the number of two votes, and if required, the chairperson (Nick Riewoldt) will pick the winner.
