Hawthorn have interest in signing Irish rugby prospect Fionn O’Hara, according to AFL.com.au.
It would mark the third Irishman on the Hawks’ list, joining Conor Nash and Conor Glass.
O’Hara plays for underage rugby club Leinster and is coming off a strong performance for Ireland’s under-18 team in their clash against Italy in November.
He took part in a three-day training camp in late December alongside a number of other talented under-18 Irish rugby prospects.
According to AFL.com.au, Hawthorn have been in contact with O’Hara and his family over the last few years.
The Hawks could sign O’Hara for this season as a Category B rookie, which means he can be included on the club’s list up until June 30so long as there is an available spot.
