SEN Breakfast co-host Garry Lyon believes GWS forward Toby Greene shares Lance Franklin's appetite for big game moments.

Greene kicked the final two goals of the game for the Giants on Sunday, sealing an eight-point win for his side after a frantic last quarter.

The 23-year-old stepped up when the Giants needed him most, and Lyon said his ability to win a game off his own boot should place him next to Buddy in that respect.

“You need to put Greene in the Buddy category for his ability to influence and win games,” Lyon said on SEN Breakfast on Monday morning.

The former Melbourne captain rates Greene so highly, he'd prefer the forward over his in-demand teammate Josh Kelly.

Kelly is the subject of a nine-year multi-million dollar deal from North Melbourne to return to his home state, and while Lyon is a big fan of Kelly's, he says the Giants should prioritise Greene's future first.

“Toby Greene is the player who I would be throwing all the money at,” Lyon said.

“He is more important than Kelly. He is a better player than Josh Kelly because he is multidimensional. I’m not knocking Kelly, he is extraordinary. That’s how highly I rate Greene.

“Greene won the game for them, he is a game winner. He would have to be in the three or four highest paid players at GWS.

“As an open market proposition, he is up there with the very best. He is worth a million dollars.”
