Fremantle young gun Liam Henry has emerged as a possible target for St Kilda according to a report by The Age, claiming an anonymous source raised a mooted move to Moorabbin.

The 21-year-old is having a career-best year at the Dockers averaging 20 disposals and 2.6 tackles per game allowing him to be a threat in both a attacking and defensive sense on the wing.

Whilst he has yet to impact the scoreboard compared to 2021, there is no doubt his scoring abilities can provide St Kilda with an extra boost to become more dangerous come finals time. His speed can catch the opponent off guard with the ball in transition, leading to interest gained from rival clubs.

Saints list manager Stephen Silvagni has also previously shown interest in the youngster. When Silvagni was at Carlton, he made a bid for the Western Australian during the opening round of the 2019 AFL Draft but was eventually unsuccessful.

Whilst Fremantle are yet to offer a new contract for Henry given his contract expires after the 2023 season, Dockers footy boss Peter Bell stated earlier this week that the speedster's future may lie away from Cockburn.

"The fact that he's out of contract and it's coming up to very late in the season means that we have to contemplate that [Henry] might see his future elsewhere," Bell told SEN WA.

"But, we're continuing to work really hard and hopefully we can convince Liam [that] Liam sees his future being at Fremantle."

Despite a career-best season, Henry has been in and out of the senior side allowing an opportunity for the Saints to offer a contract including guaranteed playing time.

St Kilda isn't the only Victorian club to show interest in Henry, with the former top-10 pick also linked to a move to Melbourne earlier this year.

The Western Bulldogs could also be in the market for Henry due to struggles on the wing position becoming a consistent cornerstone of the Bulldogs' game.
