Is Joe Daniher's move to Sydney a forgone conclusion? Former teammate Brendon Goddard believes so.

The ex-Bombers skipper declared that star forward Joe Daniher will be a Swan in 2021, saying that this season's unique circumstances only boosting those chances.

At the end of the 2019 season, Daniher put in a trade request to move to Sydney, but his request never came to fruition as the Bombers held firm and opted to keep him for the final year of his contract.

With Daniher out of contract at the end of 2020, Goddard believes a move to the Swans in 2021 seems inevitable.

“Yep, and (the talk around his professionalism) is nothing against him. Whatever I said then it’s not like I hadn’t told him before,” he told the Herald Sun’s Sacked podcast.

“I had told him that but it’s almost like the perfect setting for him to go.

“It’s almost forgotten, if this season doesn’t eventuate or it’s compromised.

"He was so set on it last year. Now with no footy played or if the club hasn’t had a chance or the team hasn’t had a chance to get him back.

“If he feels like that, yeah I am disappointed. I don’t hold it against him and if that’s the way he feels and wants to do that, that’s OK.”

Persistent groin injuries have kept Daniher, 26, on the sidelines in recent times, holding him to just 11 games since 2017.
