Former AFL star Chris Yarran has pleaded guilty to a meth-fulled rampage in Perth during November last year.

The ex-Blue and Tiger was charged with eight offences at the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a frenzy that spread across 40km and ended when he tried to grab a police officer's gun.

The charges included assaulting a police officer and terrorising drivers over the three-hour rampage.

It is understood that the incident began when Yarran forced a man out of his car in the suburb of Alkimos and crashed the stolen vehicle into two other cars.

Yarran reportedly then tried to steal the cars of people who stopped to help before assaulting a man and getting away in a Toyota Corolla hatchback.

The 28-year old tried to flee from police when he was found with the stolen car and was thereby arrested and tasered when he tried to take an officer's gun.

Yarran has previously opened up about his ice addiction, an admission his lawyer concurred with.

He will be sentenced at a later date at the District Court.
