Sydney premiership player and former Saint Adam Schneider will coach Greater Western Sydney's reserves team in 2018.

Schneider played 98 games with the Swans, including the drought breaking 2005 premiership before joining St Kilda at the end of 2007, where he played a further 130 games.

The 33-year-old coached Beaumaris to the Victorian Amateur Football Association B premiership in 2016 and will take over from Brad Miller as the Giants' NEAFL coach.

"The Giants are a club I've admired from a distance and I'm excited to join the coaching group working under Leon Cameron," he said.

"There are a number of impressive young players on the list that I believe I can help develop and prepare for the rigours of playing in the AFL."

Miller will become the club's forwards coach.
