Former Brisbane and Essendon forward Damian Cupido has amassed a stunning goal haul at local level, booting 16 majors for Kyabram District Football League side Girgarre on Saturday.

The monster tally came in a 155-point win over Longwood, with Cupido booting a majority of his side's 26 goals for the day.

The 16 goals add to an impressive start to the season for the 53-game ex-AFL player, who also recorded bags of four and seven in the opening two rounds of the year.

Cupido, who last played at AFL level in 2005, has plied his trade across state and local leagues in recent years, having also featured in the SANFL with South Adelaide and West Adelaide shortly after his delisting at Essendon

Having also had stints with Ovens and Murray side North Albury and Eastern Football League East Burwood, Cupido has played across multiple leagues and levels, with his current position with Girgarre potentially his most promising.

Prior to his move to Girgarre, Cupido booted 132 goals from 28 games with the Brock-Burrum Saints in the Hume League.

The South-African born forward made his AFL debut with Brisbane in 2000 against Sydney and would play 13 games for the Queensland club before venturing to Essendon after three seasons with the Lions.

His maiden campaign in the red sash would be his most fruitful, booting 39 goals from 23 games as the Bombers reached the semi-finals.
