Collingwood have confirmed star midfielder Jordan De Goey has re-signed with the club on a five-year deal.

After interest from both St Kilda and Essendon, as well as being eligible to exercise his rights as a free agent in 2022, De Goey has recommitted to the club until the end of the 2027 season.

The 26-year-old becomes the 15th Collingwood player to re-sign with the club in 2022, joining the likes of Darcy Moore (2028), Brayden Maynard (2025), Josh Daicos (2024) and Jamie Elliott (2025).

“We're delighted Jordan has agreed to extend his contract to stay at Collingwood,” Magpies football boss Graham Wright said in a club statement.

“Jordan is a talented footballer and his commitment to improve his game has seen him perform strongly this year, particularly during the back-end of the season and during the finals series where he was exciting to watch.

“We feel Jordan's best football is in front of him and, as a Club, we will continue to support him as he grows as a player and as a person.”

It has been reported by The Age that behavioural clauses have been included in the contract for the first two years of the deal.

De Goey has played 137 games since joining the Magpies as the fifth overall selection from the 2014 National Draft and is a chance to take home his maiden Copeland Trophy on Friday night at the club's awards night.
