Fairfax Media reporter Caroline Wilson believes Richmond superstar Dustin Martin will sign a new long-term deal with the Tigers within the next few weeks.

Wilson was steadfast in her declaration, and is now "certain" this deal will go through, possibly within the next fortnight.

"I'll declare it. Dustin Martin will stay at Richmond, and we're going to hear about it I think in the next two weeks," Wilson said on 3AW on Saturday afternoon.

"I am certain now that the offer has got to the point where it's acceptable to him, and I think he wants to accept it, I think his manager agrees. I think everyone's in furious agreement now.

"I know North isn't the only club looking at him, and I think all of these other stories have some truth in them.

"I don't think either of the Sydney clubs made an offer nor will they, nor Hawthorn, and I think Dustin Martin will accept a six to seven-year deal worth around $1.1 to $1.2 million a year to stay at Tigerland."

Martin is now the hot Brownlow Medal favourite, after Geelong's Patrick Dangerfield was ruled ineligible after serving a one-match suspension.
