Western Bulldogs forward Jack Redpath will miss three matches after he failed to overturn a suspension at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.
Redpath was initially cited for striking GWS co-captain Phil Davis in the second quarter of his side's loss to the Giants on Friday night.
The 26-year-old's strike was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact, and was originally graded as a two-match sanction with a one-match early guilty plea.
However, given Redpath's bad record, the sanction was upgraded by an additional week, meaning an early plea would have seen him miss two matches.
Following the decision handed down to Redpath, the key forward will miss the Bulldogs' upcoming matches against Port Adelaide and Hawthorn, and would also miss their first final should they progress through to September.
