Collingwood star Dayne Beams is taking some time away from the game, according to The Age.

Jake Niall says Beams has spoken to the club and their medical professionals, and has decided to step away from training in a bid to help battle his mental health issues.

It’s the second time Beams has taken a break from football in 2019, after stepping away from the game after he sustained his serious foot injury earlier this year.

Collingwood will confirm the statement soon according to Niall, although Beams hasn’t put a return date on his break.
