Fremantle are reportedly trying to break the current contract of midfielder Harley Bennell, despite recently re-signing him for the 2019 season.

Bennell signed a new deal in August this year for next season, although Sam McClure spoke on Trade Radio on Tuesday morning and broke the news.

McClure said the contract was signed under Brad Lloyd, just a week or so before he left the Dockers, with current GM of Football Peter Bell trying to find a way to break the contract.

Bennell has only played two games for the club, after joining the Dockers following the 2015 season.

MORE TO COME.
