The AFL has announced that the higher ranked team in the Grand Final, being Adelaide, will wear its home jumper.

This means the Crows will wear their traditional tri-colours guernsey of blue, yellow and red, while Richmond will wear its clash guernsey, which is yellow with a black sash rather than its traditional black guernsey with a yellow sash.

"The AFL legislates that the home team has the right during the home and away season, and it was the view here that with a clash, the AFL had previously made the decision for the higher-ranked team to have its choice," AFL football operations boss Andrew Dillon said in a statement on Saturday night.

The Richmond and Adelaide match has been considered a clash game for the past three seasons, with one of the teams wearing a clash guernsey for the match.
