Bob Murphy has declared that Collingwood star Darcy Moore will become the best defender in the game.

Responding to the question: 'who is the league's best defender?", the former Bulldogs great believes the mantle is Moore's for the taking.

“Who is the best defender in the league? By the end of the year it will be Darcy Moore,” Murphy told SEN’s Bob and Andy.

“You watch him play, he plays with as much confidence as any defender I have seen.

“He thinks that he can mark every ball that comes in.”

Moore is coming off a superb 2019 season where he averaged 14.8 disposals, 4.7 marks and 5.1 rebound 50s per game.

The 24-year old is out of contract at the end of the season, with several rival clubs reportedly queuing up to poach him from the Pies.
