The AFL have confirmed their fixtures for Round 22, with the biggest clash of the week when it comes to finals afforded a prime time slot on Friday evening.

As it stands, the Greater Western Sydney Giants sit in eighth spot on 38 points, with the Richmond Tigers just two back in tenth on 36.

While there are four teams sitting on 36, the loser of the Giants and Richmond at Marvel Stadium appears to almost certainly be out of the race for the finals with only a single week to play after Round 22.

Of the rest of those teams on 36, St Kilda will face a trip to Geelong on Saturday afternoon for a difficult encounter which shapes as must-win against the Cats.

UPDATE
The AFL have now confirmed that the Gold Coast-Essendon game has now been relocated to GMHBA Stadium after the AFL failed to allow the teams to play at Metricon Stadium.

Interestingly though, the Brisbane Lions and Collingwood Magpies will play at the Gabba.

EARLIER
The Essendon Bombers will take on the Gold Coast Suns in the Sunday afternoon clash on free to air at 3:20pm, with Essendon favourites to keep their finals hopes alive, while the Fremantle Dockers will also play in a Sunday afternoon clash against the West Coast Eagles.

The derby will also have enormous finals implications, given the Eagles, should they lose, are likely to fall behind the winner of Greater Western Sydney and Richmond, as well as Essendon so long as they beat the Suns.

Elsewhere, the round is filled with games between top and bottom sides with Hawthorn taking a home clash against the Bulldogs to Launceston.
