Channel Nine has announced Jimmy Barnes will be the headline act on the revamped AFL Footy Show for its grand final edition in four weeks time.
The Aussie rock legend will perform two of his songs at Rod Laver Arena on September 28 for the grand final show.
It is not the first time Barnes has performed at the Grand Final Footy Show, with the 61-year-old performing at the first-ever Grand Final Footy Show in 1996.
Host Eddie McGuire has promised the grand final show will be the biggest and best yet.
โNow that the Logies are leaving, this is the biggest show in town by far,โ McGuire told The Herald Sun during the week.
โThe production is bigger than the Logies anyway. This (Grand Final edition) is Melbourneโs biggest television show. Weโve got to make sure we go big and we get bigger again.
โI want some comedy and some great moments in the revue. I think itโs the been a bit of a dance-a-thon in recent years.
โI want a bit more music, and for people to genuinely laugh out loud.โ
โIโm excited. Our Grand Final show will be a massive celebration of footy.โ
