The AFL have confirmed potential venues for the upcoming AFLW Grand Final, following the unavailability of both Metricon Stadium and the Gabba.

Should Brisbane win, the game will be held at Brighton Homes Arena in Ipswich, while a victory for Melbourne and a loss for the Lions will see the Demons granted a home grand final at Marvel Stadium.

Should the underdogs prosper and North Melbourne and Adelaide both win, the final match of the year will be hosted by Hisense Stadium in South Australia.

The grand final date has also been locked in, scheduled for Sunday November 27 at 2.40pm AEDT / 1.40pm AEST / 2.10pm ACDT.

Travis Auld, Executive General Manager Finance, Clubs and Broadcast, said the turf at Brighton Homes Arena, Brisbane's new HQ, had been deemed suitable to host the game.

โ€œOn behalf of the AFL, I want to thank the Brisbane Lions and their staff for their remarkable effort in getting the turf at Brighton Homes Arena ready and thank the Queensland Government, Federal Government and Ipswich City Council for their support in developing the venue which will be an incredible asset for football in the state,โ€ Auld said.

โ€œAfter an independent turf inspection at the venue this week, the turf was deemed suitable to play, clearing the way for the Brisbane Lion's state-of-the-art home base to host an AFLW Grand Final if Brisbane win.

โ€œThe AFL are working with the Brisbane Lions and a government-led task force to address all that needs to be prepared at Brighton Homes Arena. All hands are on deck to prepare the venue in time for an AFLW Grand Final, should the Brisbane Lions win on Friday night.

โ€œI would also like to thank Hisense Stadium, West Adelaide FC, and the SANFL for the mountain of work that has gone into preparing their venue should the Adelaide Crows secure the right to host the Grand Final.

โ€œI'd like to thank the host broadcaster, Seven Network, along with our other broadcast partners who have supported us across the AFLW season.โ€

The preliminary finals will get underway on Friday, with Brisbane taking on Adelaide at Metricon Stadium.
