UPDATE: Collingwood has confirmed that forward Travis Cloke has officially requested a trade.

Cloke has grown frustrated with his position at the Magpies this season, following coach Nathan Buckley's decision to drop the premiership forward three times this year.

He has played 246 games for the Pies, including 13 this season, kicking 441 goals.

Richmond, North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs are understood to be interested in the 29-year-old, with the Dogs believed to be the front runners to secure his services.

The club released the following statement a short time ago:

"Collingwood can confirm that veteran forward Travis Cloke this morning asked to be released from the final year of his contract.

While Travis remains contracted to play for Collingwood in 2017, all at Collingwood respect Travis’ right to explore his options and acknowledge his 12 years of exceptional senior service."
