Melbourne’s No. 2 draft pick Christian Petracca is set to sign a new deal with the Demons to keep him at the club until the end of the 2018 season.
Petracca’s re-signing is expected to be imminent, despite the fact that he is yet to play a game for Melbourne after rupturing his ACL during pre-season, forcing him to miss the entire 2015 campaign.
The youngster was in line for a round one debut after dominating at the under 18 championships and impressing during pre-season training.
Petracca’s signature is a huge boost for the club, who also recently re-signed youngsters Angus Brayshaw, Christian Salem and Jay Kennedy-Harris.
