Greater Western Sydney star Lachie Whitfield has been touted as the clubs most valuable asset ahead of flashy teammate Josh Kelly, according to former AFL great Terry Wallace.

Speaking on his SEN program The Match Committee, Wallace spoke in high-praise of the 25-year-old.

“He’s an absolute superstar, Lachie Whitfield,” Wallace said.

“I sit him right up with the absolute elite.

“Straight off everyone has spoken about Josh Kelly being the million-dollar player, I would have Lachie Whitfield in front of Josh Kelly.

“I have him right up the top."

While Wallace lauded the No.1 overall selection from the 2012, he was still reluctant to pair him with the league's very best.

“I think a couple of the big-bodied boys, Bontempelli, Cripps, I’d probably still have as my number one and number two seeds,” Wallace said.

Whitfield and the Giants travel to Adelaide Oval to face Port Adelaide on Saturday night.
