West Coast fans were left fuming last night, after the boundary umpire failed to blow the whistle when Hawthorn's Jarryd Roughead appeared to take the ball out of bounds, before handballing to Cyril Rioli, who gave it to Shiels who put the Hawks in front in the final quarter.

The goal put Hawthorn in front for the first time in the match and the Hawks then went on to record a 14 point win and move to within two points of the second placed Eagles on the ladder.
