St Kilda has emerged as a suitor for out-of-contract North Melbourne forward Ben Brown, according to AFL Media's Damian Barrett.

The Kangaroos confirmed earlier this week that they will explore trades for the 27-year old in the off-season as his seven-year stint at Arden Street comes to an end.

Brisbane, Essendon and Melbourne have already been touted as potential landing spots for Brown, with no genuine links yet made.

Collingwood is another club who've been crying out for a reliable key forward for years and could lodge interest.

Prior to his injury-riddled 20220 campaign, Brown kicked more than 60 goals in each of the previous three seasons.

Speaking on AFL Media’s Footy Feed, Barrett believes that Brown is likely to land at a finals contender this off-season, with the Saints looming as a destination.

“It’s going to be at a club that’s either in the finals next year, or one projecting to be in the finals next year,” Barrett said on AFL Media’s Footy Feed.

“I’d be watching this space on St Kilda. While people will say they’ve got (Rowan) Marshall and (Ben) King and (Paddy) Ryder coming in to help out there, King still needs some support.

“I’m not locking him in there, but they’re a club who’s active in this space. He’s gettable now officially ... I’d be keen to see what they’re gonna do once they come out of the finals this year.”
