Essendon are believed to be on the hunt for Adelaide veteran Daniel Talia, with 7 News reporter Mark Stevens suggesting the key defender is "seen as gettable".

The Bombers will be keen to boost their tall defensive stocks in the upcoming trade window, with the future of Cale Hooker remaining up in the air.

According to Stevens, the Talia and Essendon link "may not be all one-way traffic" despite the two-time All-Australian being contracted to the Crows until the end of next year.

Stevens is also mindful of the fact that Talia is close to new Essendon coach Ben Rutten, with the pair playing alongside one-another for several seasons.

The Bombers will also have to deal with a number of their own players this off-season, with the futures of Joe Daniher, Adam Saad and Orazio Fantasia all unclear.
