Polly Farmer

Former WAFL and VFL legend Graham 'Polly' Farmer has died aged 84, surrounded by friends and family in hospital in WA, according to the West Australian.

Farmer will go down in history as one of the greatest ruckmen of all time, after a career that saw him named in the AFL Team of the Century as well as captain of the Indigenous Team of the Century.

Farmer changed the way the game was played, using his ruck work and the handball to revolutionise the game for all big men.

The 84-year-old was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease 24 years ago.
