Giants forward Tait Mackrill has failed to have her one-game ban dropped by the AFL Tribunal following an incident involving Docker Dana East during Sunday's gameĀ at Whitten Oval.

Mackrill appealed the MRO's one-game suspension for Rough Conduct and faced the league's Tribunal on Tuesday night, with the 22-year-old now set to miss her side's Round 3 clash against North Melbourne.

The incident was assessed as Careless, Medium Impact and High Contact, with Mackrill arguing that the bump in question was Low Impact given she collided with East's shoulder.

East was able to play out the remainder of the match following the incident, which occurred in the opening quarter.

Mackrill was among a trio of AFLW players have been handed suspensions by the Match Review Officer following the conclusion of Round 2.

Sun Ellie Hampson (Rough Conduct) and Eagle Emma Swanson (Rough Conduct)Ā have both accepted one-match bans for their respective charges.

The Match review charged Hampson following a dangerous tackle on Eagle Grace Kelly during Sunday's game at Whitten Oval, with the action deemed Careless, Medium Impact and High Contact.

Swanson was charged following a dangerous tackle on Gold Coast's Kalinda Howarth during Sunday's loss to the Suns,Ā with her charge also being graded as Careless, Medium Impact and High Contact.

 

Hampson and Swanson will each miss their side's Round 3 matches against Brisbane and AdelaideĀ respectively.
