Richmond has its sights set on GWS midfielder Jacob Townsend.

After conceding that it will not be able to sign Adam Treloar, Richmond has now turned its attention to his 22-year-old teammate.

Townsend has only played 28 games in four season at GWS, due to injury and lack of opportunity.

“We have always liked Jacob and have been tracking him for a couple of years and we feel he is a big-bodied, tough mid that we think can help us. He certainly fills a need,” Tigers football boss Dan Richardson said on Friday.

“He’s obviously not a big name but we are more about needs than names. We’ve had some positive discussions.”
