Gold Coast midfielder Michael Rischitelli could miss the rest of the season, after suffering a subluxed shoulder injury during the Suns' loss to North Melbourne on Saturday night.

The clubs says it will determine the appropriate course of rehabilitation once all the scans results are in, but the worst case scenario could see the former Brisbane Lion sidelined for the rest of 2016.

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Dion Prestia will miss this week's clash with Geelong at Simonds Stadium, also due to a shoulder injury.

It is a further blow to the Suns already depleted midfield, with onballers David Swallow and Jaeger O'Meara already missing through injury, while defenders Steven May (suspended), Rory Thompson (ankle) and Adam Saad (hip) are also all currently out of action.
