Steve Johnson will play his final game for the Cats this Saturday afternoon against Adelaide.

The Herald Sun has reported that Johnson will play his farewell game at Simonds Stadium along with premiership teammates James Kelly and Matthew Stokes, who are also set to call time on their Geelong careers.

Stokes and Kelly are believed be open to the idea of playing on at another club, while Johnson said just last week that he feels he can play on at a high level for another year.

"I feel like I'd be capable of playing on next year," he said.

"From the first half of the season I gave everybody a good reason to question whether I can continue to play on," he said.

"In the past few months since I've been feeling reasonably good physically, I just go out there and play a role and hopefully that's enough to prove to myself that I'm capable of still doing it."
