Sydney forwards Lance Franklin and Kurt Tippet have both been handed one game bans after the their clash with Richmond on Friday night, leaving the Swans’ forward line severely undermanned.
Surprisingly, Franklin can escape with just a one game suspension with an early guilty plea, despite running past the ball and opting to bump Richmond’s Shane Edwards, with Buddy’s shoulder making contact with Edwards’ head.
The incident was classified as careless contact with medium impact to the head.
Teammate Kurt Tippet can also accept a one week suspension with an early guilty plea for striking Richmond’s Dylan Grimes, with the contact also deemed to be careless, with medium impact to the head.
Brisbane’s Stefan Martin has been charged with striking with an elbow to the throat of Adelaide’s Luke brown, and can accept a two match ban with an early plea.
All other matters were cleared.
