Adelaide ruckman Sam Jacobs faces a race again time to be fit for Saturday night's clash with Brisbane at Adelaide Oval.

Jacobs sat out the entire second half of the Crows' win over Essendon on the weekend after injuring his ankle in the second quarter.

General manager of Football, Brett Burton said the injury is a minor one, with Jacobs set to undergo a fitness test later in the week to determine his availability.

“It’s obviously only early still … but it was relatively minor,” Burton said.

“We’ll assess him during the week and, hopefully, he’ll be a chance to play this weekend.”

Meanwhile, captain Taylor Walker, who missed the win due to an ankle injury, will also undergo a fitness test this week.

“Tex trained well over the weekend,” Burton said.

“We’ll ramp up his (training) loads during the week and, hopefully, he’ll be a chance to play too.”
