Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has confirmed small forward Alex Fasolo will miss the Magpies' clash with Adelaide on Saturday night.

Fasolo jarred his shoulder towards the end of the Pies' win over the Giants last weekend, in what was his first game back from a shoulder injury.

Buckley said the club will take a cautious approach with the 24-year-old and leave him out of this week's game.

"He jarred it last week. It was touch and go but we don't think he will come up," Buckley said.

“I suppose that we go back to asking, ‘Did we make the right call putting him out there last week?’ He made a really solid contribution.

“We did say when we got to the bye internally and externally that we would do whatever we have to do to put our best team out on the park and to get the wins that we need to get and to play our best footy.

“‘Fas’ helped us do that last week. He jarred his shoulder late in the game, he didn’t play a lot of the last quarter and it’s too sore for us to put him out this week and we hope that he comes up pretty soon.’’

Levi Greenwood and Mason Cox looms as the obviously options to come into the side after both missed last week's win over GWS.

“Levi Greenwood missed and obviously Mason (Cox) didn’t play either, but the VFL have had seven wins on the trot so we’ve got a lot of players down there that have played really good consistent footy and they’ll all have a look in," Buckley said.
