Scans have confirmed the worst for Adelaide defender Matt Jaensch, who will be sidelined for the rest of the season, after rupturing his ACL.

Jaensch sustained the injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s win over St. Kilda.

The key big man simply turned to change direction, but his leg buckled underneath him and he collapsed, before being stretched off the ground in sever pain.

The club confirmed via twitter earlier this afternoon, that he has indeed torn his ACL.
