Hawthorn star Jarryd Roughead is awaiting a final check up before being named to take on Sydney on Friday night after having a melanoma removed from his lip two weeks ago.
Roughead has been training since last week and appears ready to play, but he is waiting to get the all-clear from doctors before he is named in the side.
General manager of football operations Chris Fagan said that Roughead would get the final word from his specialist on Tuesday afternoon.
“A little bit depends on what they say as to whether or not he’ll be available to play on the weekend, or whether he needs to take another week for that lip to heal,” Fagan told the club website.
