The two-time Brisbane premiership player will be forced to undergo surgery after medication and treatment was not enough to help him manage the severe pain.
“The last two weeks in particular [the injury] has deteriorated to the extent where surgery is the only option. That has to be done, on the advice of surgeons, as soon as possible,” North Melbourne football manager Geoff Walsh said on Monday.
“It’s obviously not great timing, and Brad was hopeful this was something he could deal with in the off-season and push through but symptoms and the pain levels have become such that he requires immediate surgery.”
Kangaroos’ assistant coach Darren Crocker will take the reins while Scott is away.
