North Melbourne’s Leigh Adams has been forced into retirement due to a series of concussions over the past two seasons.

Adams missed a large portion of last season after suffering three separate concussions in the second half of the year, in rounds 12, 18 and 23.

He was then knocked out again in a pre-season match playing for Werribee earlier this year, before suffering yet another concussion in his third game back in the VFL, which ultimately ended his career.

The 27-year-old played 104 games with the Roos after being taken with the No. 3 pick in the 2006 Rookie Draft.
