The Adelaide Crows are contemplating a move for Brisbane Lions defender Mitch Hinge, reports The Age's Daniel Cherny.

Hinge, whose home state is South Australia, is out-of-contract at Brisbane for 2021.

The Lions are currently assessing their list spots ahead of Wednesday's lodgement deadline, with the delisted free agency window opening the following day.

It is believed that the Lions are keen to retain Hinge, but the 22-year old could be persuaded to move clubs for greater security.

Hinge has played three AFL games for Brisbane since being picked up by the club in the 2016 Rookie Draft.

He made just one senior appearance in 2020, falling behind the likes of Brandon Starcevich and Grant Birchall.

If the Lions discard Hinge he could move to Adelaide as a delisted free agent or he could join the club via the pre-season draft.

The Crows are already committed to taking wantaway Giant Jackson Hately in the pre-season after a deal could not be reached between the two clubs for the midfielder during the trade period.
