The Western Bulldogs are set to sign free agent Lion Stefan Martin to provide ruck support for Tim English.

According to 7 News' Mark Stevens, the 33-year old has agreed to join the Bulldogs for 2021.

English was outmuscled by more mature ruckmen last season, with the Bulldogs identifying a need to add a more seasoned body into their stocks.

The Dogs have also been linked to Hawks ruckman Ben McEvoy but can land Martin for nothing as a free agent.

Martin has played 130 of his 190 AFL games for the Lions after crossing from Melbourne at the end of the 2012 season.

The ruckman was restricted to just eight games in 2020 due to injuries.
