The Gold Coast Suns have re-established their interest in Richmond defender Nathan Broad, per SEN's Sam Edmund.

The Suns had shown strong interest in the triple premiership Tiger during the season before turning their attention towards Broad's teammate Oleg Markov, with Gold Coast now interested in either of the defensive duo.

Broad is understood to be back on Gold Coasts radar after Markov became a priority for the Suns as they look to add some stability to their defense.

The 27-year-old won his third flag with the Tigers on Saturday in just his 69th game and could be persuaded to move north and join former teammate Brandon Ellis in Queensland.

Broad has been a great service for the Tigers since joining the club in 2015, taking a reduced pay to find success under Damien Hardwick.

It is understood that the Suns won't be looking to hand potential recruits major salary rises if they are to join.
