Willie Rioli's drug hearing is expected to take place this month.

The West Coast premiership player has waited 16 months for a hearing into his adverse drug results.

Rioli was banned by ASADA just before the finals in 2019 for tampering with a urine sample and then later tested positive to cannabis on game day.

Fox Sports' Ben Waterworth reports Rioli's hearing will finally take place no later than December 18.

If found guilty, the 25-year-old could face a four-year suspension.

Rioli trained with West Coast earlier in the year but has spent most of 2020 in the Tiwi Islands.
