Lynch suffered a hamstring injury during his side’s Round 17 win over Geelong a fortnight ago and is not yet ready to return.
He has been a modified training program this week with hopes to to progress to a full training load next week.
“Collectively, we feel that Tom isn’t quite ready to return to play this week,” Tigers General Manager of Football Performance Tim Livingstone told the club website.
“We are confident we’ve made the right decision for both Tom, and the team heading into this finals series.”
Tom Lynch has been ruled out of Friday night’s Qualifying Final.

In other injury news, star midfielder Dion Prestia and Shai Botlon are both expected to line-up this week.
Richmond face the Lions at the Gabba on Friday night at 7.50pm AEST.
Tom Lynch took another step towards playing today while Dion Prestia and Shai Bolton are both locked in. But Kamdyn McIntosh and Marlion Pickett won’t be making way. They are safe on the wings in Richmond’s qualifying final 22. https://t.co/IakZoTosTS
