Richmond utility Josh Caddy will likely miss the next two weeks after suffering a minor hamstring injury against Geelong on Saturday.

Caddy limped from the field with just minutes remaining in the first quarter and didn't return to the action on Saturday afternoon, after injuring his hamstring in a marking contest.

“It’s certainly not a bad one which is good news,” Richmond football manager Neil Balme told the Herald Sun on Tuesday.

“We haven’t put a timeline on it yet but almost certainly he’ll miss this week. We’ll see what happens after that.”

The 24-year-old then had scans, which revealed a minor hamstring strain.

Caddy will likely miss Richmond's final two home-and-away matches for 2017 against Fremantle and St Kilda, but should be fit to play in their first final.

Despite the bad news, the Tigers have been given an injury boost with a number of other players, as some important players are nearing full fitness.

Midfielder Reece Conca and tall forward Ben Griffiths will both likely play in the VFL this weekend, while ruckman Shaun Hampson made his return to football in the reserves on Saturday.

Defender Steve Morris is also a chance to play in the VFL on Sunday.
