The future of Brisbane forward Josh Schache looks increasingly like it will be in Victoria, after the 20-year-old reportedly packed up his Queensland home before returning to Melbourne last week.

Despite signing a new two-year deal in June, Schache has struggled for the majority of 2017 on and off-field, with foxfooty.com.au reporting his teammates do not expect him to be a Lion next season.

Fox Footy believe Schache has packed up all of his belongings from his Brisbane home that he shares with teammates Corey Lyons and Alex Witherden, which signals his desire not to return to Brisbane.

The Lions allowed for Schache to return back to Seymour in Victoria twice during the season, with the second instance coming last week, when he skipped the NEAFL grand final to head back home.

While the forward has not yet requested a trade, the formal procedure now seems more likely than not, with a number of Victorian clubs reportedly having Schache on their radar.

Richmond looms as a potential destination, with the Tigers rumoured to have been in the running for Schache before he re-signed earlier on this season.

Their interest is reportedly still there, with Richmond assistant coach and former Brisbane coach Justin Leppitsch still in close contact with Schache.

The number two selection in the 2015 National Draft has played 27 games for the Lions since making his debut in round one, 2016.

Across the 2017 season, he averaged 9.1 disposals, 3.9 marks, and kicked nine goals.
