Geelong is set to go after Saints star Jack Steven again in the off-season, reports AFL Media's Damian Barrett.

It comes 10 months on from the Cats failing to snare Steven at the end of last season, who has long been on the club's radar.

The 29-year-old took a leave of absence from St Kilda in round six to address his mental health and is pushing for a return to the senior team soon.

He is contracted to the Saints next season but has long considered a move to Geelong to be closer to his Lorne family.

A four-time best-and-fairest winner at the Saints, there will be more clarity about his situation at the end of the season.

Steven returned to football via the VFL last week where he is expected to remain this weekend.
