The Western Bulldogs are keen to trade for Eagles forward Jack Darling, according to a report by 6PR’s Kim Hagdorn.
The 26-year old bagged a season-high six goals against Luke Beveridge's side last week to sit fourth in the Coleman Medal with 25 majors.
It is believed that that the Dogs have over $1 million in salary cap space following Tom Boyd's shock retirement last month.
And Hagdorn believes Darling would be an ideal target to allow youngster Aaron Naughton to shift back to defence.
“The Western Bulldogs will target a trump key forward so that Aaron Naughton can play more in defence,” Hagdorn said.
“It’s no coincidence that a big, strong West Coast Eagles key forward, who’s a restricted free agent at the end of next season, had a blow-out game against the Bulldogs last Sunday.
“The Western Bulldogs, for mine, will jockey to get into bargaining for Jack Darling. Jack Darling would be hot on someone’s radar.”
Darling comes out of contract at the end of 2020 when he becomes a restricted free agent, meaning the Eagles have the right to match any offer that he receives.
